Slaggregates® is a proprietary of Bafenyi African Group (Pty) Limited, encapsulated by the need to offer superior quality Green Construction Materials and achieve Sustainable Structural Integrity in Modern Engineering.
We are the equilibrium of Sustainable Infrastructure Development and Permanent Mineral Sequestration. Slag, a stony waste matter separated from metals during smelting or refining of ore is gradually becoming a recognised alternative to aggregates quarried from virgin land.
We secure long-term Slag-Use-Agreements with Mineral Processing Plants such as Smelters in South Africa and the entire African continent. Our value proposition to the Mineral Processing Plants is to relieve them of the environmental burden on their slag residuals, an industrial symbiotic intervention.
Our current operations are in the North West province, moving thousands of tonnes per month where we have secured a long-term agreement on Samancor’s historical stockpiles. We are also gaining traction in securing other historical and current stockpiles where it is feasible.
We pride ourselves with a hybrid of Slaggregates® as a Physical Mineral supplied mainly to the Construction Sector, providing superior quality green construction materials.
Slaggregates® Carbon+ as a Tradable Permit supplied mainly to the Carbon Markets, contributing to environmental sustainability and carbon reduction goals
“Now more than ever, the need to protect the environment against Carbon Emissions and Degradation has now become a global competitive edge.”
Materials delivered to your preferred site/s or you can collect direct from our operations.
We are empowered by the National Environmental Management: Waste Act 2008 (NEMWA No. 59 of 2008), with well defined permitted uses of various slags.
Our Slaggregates® products range from ultra fines of -4mm to coarser aggregates of up to 30mm stones.
Slaggregates® Carbon+ represents a groundbreaking innovation that converts the tonnes of slag sequestered into a financial instrument.
